About Dan Ebener

Dr. Dan R. Ebener is an author, teacher and speaker and has been developing leaders for churches, businesses and community organizations since 1976.  Dan teaches strategic planning, team-building and leadership skills for the Master of Organizational Leadership program at St. Ambrose University.  Dan also continues to work part-time as director of stewardship and parish planning for the Diocese of Davenport, Iowa.

Believing that professors should practice what they teach, Dan has provided consultation in these areas to more than 100 organizations, through his business Quad City Leadership Consulting, Inc.  Drawing from experience in the classroom and his consulting practice, Dan has spoken to audiences in 43 states and 20 countries, and has authored many articles and four books on leadership.  In his writing and speaking, Dan draws regularly from his international travels to 69 countries.

Dan was raised in Oglesby, IL in a family of ten children. His nine siblings are among his very best friends. Dan lives in Davenport, Iowa and has been married since 1977 to DeAnn Stone Ebener. They have two sons, Josh and Zach.

Dan was awarded the Graduate Faculty Member of the Year by St. Ambrose University in 2016.

Dan was the recipient of the 2015 Yves Congar Award from the Conference for Pastoral Planning and Council Development (CPPCD).  The award is in recognition of extraordinary service, initiative and creativity on the part of a CPPCD member in support of pastoral planning and consultative processes in the direction set forth by the Second Vatican Council, as well as sustained commitment to furthering the mission of CPPCD

"Teachers can be a tough group to teach but you did an amazing job of engaging us and keeping us interested in making the connections between teaching and leadership... We could have listened to you all day."

- Teacher In-Service Seminar, Omaha, NE

“Dan, You fit more wisdom, direction, Scripture and common sense business principles into 50 minutes than most people could offer in an all-day retreat! Thank you for your inspiration and for pointing us in the right direction.  The impact you’re having on the Catholic Church today is significant.”

- Sharon Ehrenkranz, Director of Communications, St. Laurence Catholic Church

"Your servant leadership talk was a home run."
